Miguel Saramago, the CEO of Enzen Portugal and the Global Head of Distributed Generation, is an experienced, futuristic and visionary leader who heads our Portugal team with the utmost professionalism and dedication.
His way of life and leadership is to create, transform and improve every day, always focused on achieving better results but never forgetting the well-being of employees. Miguel is an ardent believer that a company can only achieve its true potential if its whole team is motivated and committed.
Miguel is known for his excellent ability to face challenges and find solutions to difficult problems. As the leader of our Portuguese business, he has been instrumental in strategic planning and expanding Enzen’s footprint in the country. He has developed major investment partnerships, as well as built collaborations with important commercial and industrial groups to accelerate growth.
Under his stewardship, Enzen is now a well-known name competing with the biggest players in the Portuguese market after only two years of operation.
A former investment banker and CEO and CFO of renewables businesses, Miguel has successfully overseen and delivered renewable energy financial deals and investment structures with major industry players including BNP Paribas, Hanwha and TPG.
During his career, he has worked in Europe and Latin America, and served as a Board Advisor on the Brazil Renewable International Energy Congress.
Miguel holds a degree in Economics from the Nova School of Business and Economics, a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance from the ISCTE Business School in Lisbon and a Project Finance certification in the UK. In his free time, Miguel enjoys surfing, yoga classes and hanging out with friends and family.
