Customer Challenge
To transition to a greener economy, the Caribbean islands require affordable low-carbon energy solutions. As one of the world’s biggest renewables investor funds, our customer was seeking to partner with a utilities expert to lead on the delivery of renewables solutions in Grenada, Suriname and Guyana.
Our Solution
Impressed by our experience of connecting isolated locations, innovative, location-specific designs and vision for more sustainable communities, the customer appointed Enzen to deliver microgrids of solar PV and battery storage in all three countries. Over a two-year period, we are responsible for project management, construction and co-ordinating with local authorities, partners and other stakeholders.
Outcomes delivered
By reducing the communities’ dependency on high-polluting diesel fuels, Enzen’s solution will reduce carbon footprint by 60% or 2,160 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year. Citizens will have access to more reliable power and superior quality of life, while the Caribbean will benefit from a best practice blueprint for future low-carbon investment in the region.
